February 16, 2025 – The Bread for the Week – Beyond Good into God: Embracing Divine Instinct

Good afternoon, MKBA family,
I hope you all are doing well today. I’m going to record two messages back-to-back because they flow together. I’m not here to teach or preach as much as I feel led to share what the Lord has been speaking to me about during my morning quiet time.
As I mentioned last time, these messages come from conversations I have with the Lord. I believe these are things He wants me to share with you all. The topics vary depending on what He speaks to me about, as I begin my mornings as a blank slate. I usually start with some form of devotion, decree, or repentance, but beyond that, I listen for His guidance.
In the Jewish calendar, there is a period referred to as “The King is in the field.” He is out among His people, among His warriors in their daily lives. I believe we have entered a similar season where the Lord wants to come closer to His people, to share intimate things about Himself uniquely with each of us. My hope is that what I share today encourages you to seek the Lord in this season with more submission, prayer, and attentiveness to His presence.
A few mornings ago, I asked the Lord, “What are You doing through me that is new? What past understanding do I need, and what future revelation should I seek?”
The Lord responded, “That’s a good question, Mark.” He spoke about the past—about how He has always been present, whether I felt Him or not, and how all of it has served a purpose.
He then said something that deeply resonated with me: “You made it look as if your assignments and the way I dealt with you were all good. You loved and helped a lot of people, and that was good, but it was not God.”
I asked, “What do You mean, Lord?”
He said, “Good and God do not exist in the same space. Remove one of the O’s.”
That struck me. The “O” stands for “only”—as in, only do what you see Me do or say. This is a “now” season. It is not a time to run around trying to do everything we think we should do. Instead, it is a time to focus on what He specifically needs from us. We must seek what He is doing that is new, what He wants to remind us of, and what future revelation He wants to give us to move forward.
This applies not only to our businesses but also to our personal lives. If we do not build an altar inside ourselves, our businesses cannot become a place of worship and work for the Lord.
The Lord then said the word “involuntary.” When I looked it up, I found it means “done without will or conscious control.” It is instinctual, a fixed pattern of behavior. This reminded me that we were created in His image, designed to follow His Spirit instinctively. However, the world has taught us to follow its ways instead.
I believe God is calling us back to a place where following Him is involuntary, where we do not follow our own will but instead let His Spirit guide us instinctively. Our spiritual maturity is reflected in how much risk we take in believing His Word, in allowing the righteousness of following Him to cost us something in the world—whether that be persecution, tribulation, or conflict with those around us.
The Lord then told me, “Mark, I need you to share your life on the platforms I give you. You are a testimony, a revelation that brings new knowledge and insight for the time that is coming. Live now for tomorrow. Open doors and create new thought patterns of Me, with Me, and for Me.”
I responded, “Yes, Lord. What would You have me do?”
He said, “Let your instinct take over.”
Many of you know my deep love for the Word. There are seasons where I cannot get enough of it, and I’m in one of those seasons now. Every passage I read impacts my life, my assignment, and my path. It brings healing, earnestness, fervency—something powerful.
I hope this message encourages you to seek Him more deeply, to move beyond good into God, and to instinctively follow the leading of the Holy Spirit in your lives.
